About me
1997-2001 ft2
2001-2007 ft2, reason + sound forge

Currently I'm learning to use Renoise. I've done music for Traction demos, for semi-commercial purposes and of course just for fun. I find it hard to categorize (who doesn't?) my music, but usually it ranges somewhere between ambient, downtempo, breaks, dnb and trip-hop.
When not composing I study educational sciences at the university of Helsinki, practise capoeira, play percussive instruments, dabble with pianos and keyboards (drums too if the occasion arises) and try to live in the moment. I enjoy staying up late and waking up late :P Clubs and raves and gigs and movies and all that too.

Favorite music editor
Reason, Ft2 (well, Milkytracker since i dont own a DOS computer), Renoise

Favorite musicians
Massive Attack, Steve Roach, Seba, Smashing Pumpkins, Sigur Ros, Archive, Orbital, The Pharcyde and Biosphere to name a few. Trackers: Necros, Purple motion, Skaven, Mellow-D and the old Star Control 2 mods.

Musical inspiration
Usually when I start analyzing my inspirations they tend to wither away, so I try to refrain from doing that. But I suppose anything can be inspiring, if it evokes emotions in you.

Advice to other musicians
Do your thing. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.

Notes about my music
Currently nearly all my tunes are demoscene related.. So they work best when watching the actual demos.

This song has a definite feeling of despair in it, which reminds me of VNV Nation melody-wise. The first breakdown is really awesome and fits the mood well, kudos for the in-your-face reverb-delay in that :) After that I would've wished for some more in-your-faciness though, since as it is, the lat

There's definitely an ominous and a looming presence of evil -type of mood in this tune. The tune is minimalistic in it's use of elements, which is definitely good in this type of music imo -less is more. This sounds very soundtrackish to my ears, and even though I'm not a big fan of this type of

A pumping techno piece here. Nothing too extraordinary, but nothing wrong either, except for some sound quality issues.

Liquid funk, oh yes :) This tune has all the elements one could hope to expect from such a tune - sparkling drums and percussion, a smooth bassline, filtersweeped chords and the like. The melodies, however, are not very original sounding and the song is way too repetitive in it's theme to rise abov

Hmm. The concept of using only one synth plugin to make all the sounds for a track is a nice one, but has it's limitations soundwise, as good sounding drums are really hard to synthesize, at least with only one synth. In this track the drums aren't in the main role though, so that doesn't matter
