1Overall Description
As an unusually devout fan of the work of Bobby Prince I begin by saying that I am very biased towards the side of enjoying this piece of music. It is worth noting that this piece is a bit of a pull in both directions for me; while I truly enjoy the music from which this piece originates, I am generally displeased with the lack of original direction this 'remix' takes.

It seems almost as if the artist simply took the original and changed around instruments. There are no significant changes in the arrangement, even down to the percussion. It feels extremely wrong, in my opinion, to say that the majority of this piece belongs to the mentioned artist, as every single note is right out of the original that Bobby Prince wrote for "Doom."

I do, however, enjoy listening to this piece on a more basic level. I would not throw away my enjoyment of the music simply because it is not original, and I don't. If this was my first time hearing this piece, I would most likely grade differently. However, it is my experience that creates my judgment, and that experience creates this disappointment.

In conclusion, I'd have to say that this piece is no more than a mere 'recording' of the previous work of Bobby Prince, and similar 'recordings' can be found at Doomworld at the following link.

2Creativity Description
For a new listener, this would be a fairly creative piece, I am sure. However, given that there isn't a single note variance from the original, much less any different creative or genre difference, this track is simply not creative in the true sense of the word. While the new samples are welcome, there really isn't anything keeping an artist from taking the rest of the soundtrack (or any MIDI soundtrack for that matter) and changing the samples and claiming it there own. You will find that what you have done basically mimics what is seen at "Doomworld," found at the link shown above.

There is simply nothing productive or new in this 'remix,' and for that I am disappointed.

3Artistic License Description
As a remix, there is simply nothing new here. I'm not sure what to say that I haven't yet said.

4ArrangementDescription
There is no aspect of arrangement in this piece that doesn't dwell from the original.

5Sound Quality Description
The samples and production quality is fair, and it helps build upon the original atmosphere of the piece. Theres nothing amazing, but it is alright.

Hmm, either way I was under the notion this was a remix. :/

Isn't that what a remake is? Updating the samples?

It just seems inappropriate to call it a remake, even. Just because the samples are the only change. No hard feelings, just trying to share my opinion of the matter. For a click-rating I would give it a 4 just because I like the piece :p

Please note: This is a remake of the origional. An update of the actual sound of the song, if you will. It was not meant to be taken as a remix (I would have appropriately labeled it as such, should I have deemed it worthy to be considered as such). I did not change a single note/rhythm due to the simple fact that I feel it would simply be an injustice to such a work as this.
