1Overall Description
hey man. i use fl too.
i think you did great with your sample editing and eq-ing. that staccato-ish base sort of meddled into the beat-rythm in a great way. which was nice. i liked the body of music too. it had a quality too it that is hard to describe. but i liked the - "delayed" chords near the begining. These kinda embodied what I liked about it. HOWEVER -> only one thing (and this is ONLY a suggestion) but if this song had a bassline - I think it could've been stronger (not necessarily needing to be louder - although what i wanted to hear, i couldn't because it might not of been there). what i mean is, those higher picked "pluck-ish" sounds could've benefited (in my ear's mind) from, say, a squarishly-waved base sound. like if you used a modified TB 303-square wave based bass, that might of driven this song even higher. from 1:23 to 2:15 the beat goes silent and you get to enjoy the "melody" sample's. If instead of bringing in the beat all at once 2:15 (which is ok when chalked up to artist choice), i could imagine hearing a bassline brought up underneath. and then after a bit of that, then let the beat kick in.
the only other suggestion was to mess with the snare rythm. kinda make copies of your snare pattern and evolve them into slightly different snare patterns to be used for transitioning to a new part (followed by a crash of course - which may benefit from some unfiltered reverb itself)

anyways, those are just suggestions. I know what its like to have someone make suggestions to a song that you cherish. so know these are only from an outsider's opinion. be proud of your sounds. Good stuff. I could ask you mixing questions sometime (as a FL user myself). good music idea's and arrangement.
