| This is a chunky, strong industrial track through and through, with juuuust the right amount of crunchy distortion to contrast with just the right amount of hi-treble synths. I hear some subtle funk influences in some of the synth work toward the end of the track; makes for an interesting mix. I don't care much for the little break that comes at 1:40- it seems like the track hasn't really properly established itself enough for a major paradigm shift at this point. My advice would be a more subtle progression up to this section and stick it more toward the middle of the track... maybe have the guitar sample filter in while sweeping in from the left or right ear. The shining point of this track is the drumwork, which is solid and interesting all the way through. The low point of the track is the sudden ending; just when things are starting to get really good, the track just sort of dies. I don't think that it sounds like a completely different song with the transition that comes in around the three-and-a-half minute mark- it just sounds like it's morphing into an even more interesting version of itself... unfortunately, that metamorphosis is cut short. This song is begging to be worked up into a 10-minute NIN-remix-type epic. | ||
