1Overall Description
Astounding. At times dramatic, at times tender, at times even lachrymose, but always sensitively played, this piece demonstrates both Jesse's amazing piano virtuosity, and his skill as a composer.

2Creativity Description
The romantic influence is clear. After the initial drama of the aggressive opening, the music shifts quickly into a very nocturne-like (nocturnal? ;D) section, which brings not only Chopin to mind, but also Artur Rubinstein... This ability to seamlessly integrate two unequivocally different styles exemplifies the creativity in this piece.

Because "the performer [interprets] the score in the widest possible manner", it must also be noted that much of this work is necessarily improvisatory, despite "ample preparation".

3Artistic License Description
Listening to this piece is akin to having every sense stimulated. It lingers tantalisingly fleetingly on ideas and motifs which other composers would have seized upon as the basis of a whole piece. Yet there is nothing which feels unexplored. It's almost as though, in the very act of playing them, the ideas become complete; they don't require anything more to make them worthwhile.

4Sound Quality Description
This is perhaps the only real problem with this piece. There is occasional clipping in the fortissimo sections. I would also love to hear this performed on a real grand piano, preferably in a concert hall near me. =D

5Does it work as a piece of music Description
This is music as it's meant to be. Not pretentious, not somnolent, not overly complex, but exquisitely balanced and, at the end of the day, interesting to listen to, both intellectually and emotionally.
