1Overall Description
The "guitar" sound to me, though looked down upon electronic artists such a kraftwerk as an instrument from medieval times, has always been able to give that extra human touch. When mixed in with electronic music it escapes the often imposed detachedness of electronic music and gives it a very primal (not always blatant)emotion. I have always been convinced that guitars in trance should be an avenue more heavily explored. After seeing Juno Reactor do it live, I've wondered why more artists haven't done more with it. Adding the guitars to this version was an excellent idea for the track, giving it that extra layer to make Core sound unique.
Though Zaphoid doesn't make the guitar the complete center of the track. The piece of music has a strong sense of detachment (not necessarily a bas thing) and adding the guitar to Core gave it the more "human" quality.
The rest of the track is a basic, but intricate trance atmosphere. It builds off conventional ideas and constructs a sound that works. Having the guitar take over for the piano here and again was a great way to break repetition and give extra flavor. The piano work is very impressive, it's involved melody gave the track a much needed complex attitude.
The energy of the track is very constant and very driving. The beat that zaphoid is using was an excellent call to give this piece of music it's driving force.
This track shows Zaphoid's continued skill and an ear capable of expertly noticing extensive details and layers.

not a big deal. I don't know very many artists that do know how to spell or have handwriting that looks much better than chicken scratch. I guess it comes with the territory.
