1Overall Description
A short experimental piece that creates a wonderful mood and ends off a bit too prematurely. I'm really torn whether to give this track 3 or 4 stars, but in the end I decided upon 4.
2Creativity Description
Few things in this track are really groundbreaking, but the idea is nicely executed - the backwards spoken word sample (German? Dutch?) at the beginning is a partilularly nice touch, and one that adds a lot to the mood. However, the track is really a bit too short for the ideas present to really come into full fruition; a longer mix would give the artist a better chance of adding more to the tune. I think it's a pity that Void Pointer claims this to be a one time recording, as he shows a lot of potential with this genre and I'd be interested to hear what more he can come up with.
3Arrangement Description
Good use of sound effects and I really enjoy the dichotomy between strings and harp on one hand and more jarring and dissonant electronics on the other. The tune could do with some more progression and variation, though; as it is, it just hangs there for the duration before it fades out from where it came. I sure wouldn't mind a slightly longer version.
4Sound Quality Description
The strings are quite lush and complement the rest of the very professional-sounding soundscape very well. The instruments are nicely balanced, although the main synth sound does dominate proceedings a little too much at times. There are a couple of artifacts present, but they don't detract from the whole in this case
5Does it work as a piece of music Description
I think this is a solid, interesting piece of music that could fit well as an interlude between a couple of more rhythmic tracks.
