1Overall Description
A Hellven release from 2000 that showcase some of the best elements of the ambient genre, and still sounds very fresh today. The arrangement is very competently done, and flows nicely from one part to the next. The mood stays pleasant and subdued throughout, and the sound effects complement the track really well and adds to the soundscape. Listening to this actually reminds me of the music for the map screen in Sim City 4, which is a good thing in my book.
2Creativity Description
Not very groundbreaking stuff here, but it's always a pleasure to listen to music made with skill and confidence. I wouldn't mind a 2007 "update" of this track, to hear if the composer can improve on this with more up-to-date technology.
3Sound Quality Description
The drums, though well tracked, sound very thin and haven't aged very well. Also, the sound is very "boxed in", and could have been vastly improved through proper mastering and stereo widening.
