1Overall Description
I would call this a easy-listening track, that is easy for me. I don't think this would fit in the IDM-genre, unless you picture hippies on a dancefloor floating around on LSD. Who would probably very much enjoy this piece then.

2Creativity Description
I can't really say i heard anything like this before. In the comments i see a reference to an album, so it's probably me. Anyway in my opinion this is a very creative piece, but for me it gets a bit dull after a minute or two. I think this is mostly to blame to the 'lead'-synth (if there is such a thing) playing the same notes in what seems different orders. I think the highly feedbacked delay over it also makes it sound too repetitive.

3Artistic License Description
Accept for the lead-synth (as stated before) all the samples in the piece have a very nice and subtle feeling to it. Together with the pads this makes it a very relaxing piece of music and very nice to listen too.
I'm sure opinions about this may vary: but the constant repeating synth melody on the background (the one that starts around 2:45 and is the last one left at the end) seemed to have a mind of its own. I want to note this, cause in its subtlety I liked it very much.

4Arrangement Description
Nicely filed, but still smooth. A few well-placed breaks. Simply great.

5Sound Quality Description
Not much to comment here. The leadsynth sometimes has a bit too sharp sound. Doesn't really fit in the feeling of the piece.

6Does it work as a piece of music Description
This piece would be nice for background music. I can even imagine it on some kind of meditation album. But i still wonder why the artist has called this Intelligent Dance Music. It is Intelligent Music, but nothing for the dancefloor, I think.

To be honest, Intelligent Dance Music was a stupid genre title that some mag came up with years ago to differentiate some styles of electronic music that were not typical of what was being played in the clubs. Most just refer to it as IDM instead, and this piece does fit in with some of the music you would hear in that genre (check out Autechre's Amber album if you get chance), although the genre is ridiculously varied, as at the other end of the scale you get the insane stuff of the likes of Venetian Snares.
