1Overall Description
A very enjoyable piece reminiscent of the good old demostyle. Simple, yet impressively used instruments and inspiring arpeggiators almost elevate this track to 5 stars, only being held back by the lack of a lead melody of some kind. Do not hestitate to download this piece, it comes highly recommended.
2Creativity Description
The piece is very well thought through, with some clever use of synths, filters and compressors. To make it truly stand out from the crowd however, it would need a lead melody of some kind, but everything works very well even without it.
3Artistic License Description
Initially the samples sound slightly thin and uninteresting, but the artist quickly turns everything on its head and builds an impressively simplistic, yet fulfilling sound to the front. Personally I would have left some of the simplicity behind for a richer soundscape, but there's no denying that what is here stands on its own accord.
4Arrangement Description
It is clear that the artist had a clear plan in mind when he made this track. The way the instruments are introduced in the beginning is very satisfying. Every single instrument is allowed to stand out in the mix even though some of them are given more focus than others. No complaints here.
5Sound Quality Description
Simple instruments are used much better than they deserve to be. Kudos to the artist for getting such a wonderful quality of sound out of so little.
6Does it work as a piece of music Description
This is a good piece of music that lives up to the demostyle of the old days. It's among the best pieces of music that I've reviewed on TiS so far.
