1Overall Description
Roncli, once again, shares with us a very groovy piece of music, and a solid work. If you're looking for a colorful piece of music with a touch of oldschool spice, than Song of the Cross is just that.

The piece is an amazing example of how the "tracker-sound" can be achieved with modern tools (Reason and Sonar). Musically, everything is as it should be, catchy melodies we expect of "The Nightstalker," suitable percussion, and a worthwhile chord progression. Worth the download, and then some.

2Arrangement Description
The piece has a repetitive nature about it (listen to the bass and it's beautiful filter work), but has a lot more color than I at first imagined it capable of. Beautiful piano programming and moving arrangements in secondary layers give this piece a lot of depth. The transitions are also excellent, ranging from string flares to ordinary and effective percussion fills. We see just the right amount of everything, not too much attention where it doesn't belong (piano riffs, lead solos), but just the right amount. While I'd like to see the bass do something different, I am a fan of hitting the same note on two octaves and running a sweeping filter on top. However, something new in the bassline could only help. (:

3Sound Quality Description
There is a true beauty in mixing skill shown here. Song of the Cross has rich and crisp bass without a bit of muddy sound, which is enough to leave me and my Creative subwoofer happy without shaking the whole building (I like to know it's there without feeling a tremor). All of the instruments are well matched to one another, and everything seems in check. Good work.

I should put up some examples of tracks I rearrange from modules, and you'll see what I mean (;

"The piece is an amazing example of how the "tracker-sound" can be achieved with modern tools (Reason and Sonar)." It also helps when the original was done in a tracker. :)
