1Overall Description
This is an instrumental song. Although stated as Chillout/Lounge and Ambient, it has only a very remote connection to these genres. I would classify the tune as Instrumental. If the long intro was meant to be ambientish or chillout, it didn't work. The melody has potential, but in my opinion it should have been developed more.

2Creativity Description
In my opinion, the piece is not astoundingly original. Very predictable structure, simplistic melody, usual chord progression. The beginning is dull.

3Sound Quality Description
The sound is good. Drums are very decently done and in general the souns is pleasant to the ears. Piano could be of a better quality though as on higher notes it sounds too unrealistic. Actually, at points I am not even sure if that's a piano and not a guitar. This is what gives the tracked feeling.

4Does it work as a piece of music Description
I think it does not. Ambient and chillout music have different principles behind it and involves many things that keep the listener interested inspite of the repetation or absence of definite motif. It requires lots of practice and insight into these genres. Labelling a tune ambient is no excuse to make repeating melodies.
As an instrumental piece, it lacks melodical development.

This is true - after all, this review is just my opinion on this exact tune. It is great if you like it. I find it fascinating that each tune usually finds its listener. On the other hand, I am very much into meditative and repetitive music and I not only can listen to drumming, I play percussions myself ;) Anyway, nice talkin to ya

Thats where I disagree. I think repetition is used quite well in this track as I feel it puts my mind in a hypnotic state. Seems I am listening to this track from an entirely different perspective as you are. I may see repetition in a slightly different way to you as I have used music like this to enhance psychedelic experience and meditation. I could very happily listen to tribesmen drumming out beats for hours upon end :) Different mindset, different experience I guess..

The point is not to SOUND like Brian Eno. Brian Eno simply popularized the idea of flat structured music. But flat structured music should not be repetitive. Repetition as a composition form should be handled very delicately. In this tune repetition is rather straightforward - it is simply taking a block you've used before and playing it again.

Hmmm, I dont know what this review is set out to achieve. I think this piece fits into the genre description perfectly. Both genre types are vague by their very definition. Looking further into works of both genre's, we find very different interpretations of what they are. Not all ambient music should sound like Brian Eno :)
