"This Is The Night" is an insanely catchy dose of synth-pop. It's simple, it's repetitive, it's way too happy-sounding, and there's a part of me that kinda wants to be annoyed, and yet I just can... Read full review

I'd write an essay about the brilliance of this tune if there were words to describe it. 5 stars!

This is really brilliant! The catchiest song I've heard since Vernoma Street! 5/5 stars and best luck for the Novus Compo! You certainly have my vote :)

I wouldn't mind you remixing it at all, it should be most interesting. Actually several people have asked me about the same, although no remix has been made so far. But if you're up for it, bring it on. :)

Neat! I can't imagine a vocoder on a synth board built into a program, but that's very cool. I understand the workings of vocoders (I have a fetish), and I like to create synth vocals by combining vocoder work with dry signals (of course, I run the dry signal through so more stuff...) but it really creates an interesting sound. See "Let it Live" on the Vocoders playlist I added you to. Either way, I really enjoy this track, and I have half a mind to remix it if you don't mind. Thanks for the cool track, keep it up. (:

Thanks! :) The voice is me run through a vocoder, more specifically the vocoder on the Korg MS2000R (in fact all sounds except from the drums were made on that synth). I simply played the part on the keyboard first, recording the midi data, then had that midi data play the carrier part of the vocoder as i sang/spoke into the mic, recording the synth's vocoded output. The vocoder program itself was basically a preset that I edited slightly, so I don't know the parameters by heart. I could always look up the patch if there's anything in particular you want to know though (what kind of carrier wave, filters etc), so let me know if you do.

Tell me immediately how you did that with your voice. I've been dying to get a catchy vocoder/talkbox sound, and had nothing but an arse time at it. Either way, this is awesome, good work. I love hearing vocoders. (:

There's like a burlesque orgy in my ears and everyone's invited. Except for ugly people. Ugly people in an orgy is as gross as I'm stupid. Thanks!
