Artist's description:
This is the first track I ever composed in Renoise. It's good to return to my tracking roots again after all these years, even though there's a lot more expensive equipment and software involved now. Pro Tools is good, but there's just something about tracking that ignites my imagination.

I really went wild with free VSTs for this song. Don't underestimate their quality! Here's a full list of what VSTs were used in the production:

Free VSTs:
- Analog Warfare 3 (bass)
- Synth1 (lead, "piano", various synth sounds)
- Oatmeal (weird synth sound in the bridge section)

Not free:
- Spectrasonics Atmosphere (pads)
- Zero-G Wired (drums, synth bass, fx)
- EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Pro XP (violins and cellos)

I hope you enjoy listening to this track as much as I enjoyed composing it.

I have come appreciate TiLT's music and it was with a high degree of interest I pushed "play" on this song because of its tracking base compared to other songs. The beginning is absolutely fabulous ... Read full review

This is a great mood combo: both driven trance and chill-out simultaneously. At the start of the song it's obvious either this guy's a master sound engineer or he has some serious money inves... Read full review

Well, this is obviously a home studio effort but the first thing I can hear is a lack of control over the sample work. Nothing interesting is happening with the amplitude or frequency modulation of t... Read full review

Bass is lovely round and warm. Otherwise I like this song, but I think there could be a little more variation with lead instrument, maybe some filter tweaking ? imho.

Great job... How can a listener enjoy an artwork as much as the creater has composing it?! Impossible! And perfect wielding of renoise.

After listening to this (after a long time) I definitely hear how the tracker brings out that extra imagination. Happens to me too. Today I used my midi controller with renoise for the first today, and there is something so powerful about being able to play the notes and then edit with that kind of precision. Wow.

I don't normally like trance music (except psy), but this tune sure rocks :) It avoids the genre's cliche's in every aspect, and sounds very original and clean. The instruments used are very atmospheric and deep. Nice one!

with volume control, vibrato and filters you won't need an orchetra in a box, just play around a bit, you'll see ;)

Poopy... :( I'm on the lookout for some good 'real sounding' strings (synth, samples, whatever), for small ensemble or quartet pieces. I've already got Gigastudio 3, but I've got to run it as a ReWire client and the latency is TERRIBLE!! And I'd have to by strings .gig, too. Sorry, I'm cluttering up your song page. Love the tune...still :D

Sorry, I was unclear in the song description. The description now shows which VSTs are free and which are not. You are absolutely right that the orchestra is really pricey.

Wow :) I'm subtley reminded of Anvil's "Path to Nowhere", an epic-scale XM I absolutely love. Very nice production. Incidently, are all the VSTi's listed here free or are there "pay to play" instruments as well (the EWQL Orchestra sounds like one of those really pricey ones I'm not familiar with...:/).
