Canarysongs (Track #38)

Artist's description:
A mixture of drum 'n' bass and trance. Paul Oakenfold meets Konflict.

Please take note of the fact that the primary genre listed is "Drum & Bass," so if you're a trance fanatic expecting to hear another disco-beat 4/4 piece of fluff, look elsewhere. It's drum and bass and only has elements of trance. It's about thirty or forty BPM faster than trance and if you're going to listen to it from a trance perspective, I would prefer that you take all negative comments/reviews referring to the track as being "too fast", roll them into a tiny little ball, and shove them up your ass.

I abandoned a lot of formulaic constraints here, as far as song structure is concerned (i.e., the intro was kept short and there's no "drop" in the track), but I like the results.

I'm not a Drum & Bass fan, nor understand that type of music entirely or clearly. This music is also labeled as Trance so from a trance point of view this trance track is too fast to dance to, move t... Read full review

Love what you've done with the hybrid d&b/trance style beat...you weren't kidding about the genre hybridization! On the other hand the mood is and melody style is much closer to d&b (also perhaps a bit less emotional), though just as melodic as trance. As with Feeding Frenzy, very nice wizardry on the drum fills. A little bit more melodic trance soul in this one and you'll have something BT would be proud of. Keep up these new hybrid genre projects, you might well hit a new style! :-)
