The Dream:

We the explorers set out for The Voyage. Our destination is a place far away. Existence is merely an image... and this journey is a dream of yesterday.

Artist Comment:

This is my "space ambient" song. This was written back in 2001 and the underlying melody has not changed since.

I decided to revamp this song by adding elements I felt were necessary to top this song off. I also adjusted existing tracks a bit as necessary. I added a distortion guitar to go along with the bass line, but placed just behind the bass as to not take away from it but add to the flavor of the mix.

This is not the final version of the song. I am working on tweaking this as well as my bro Mark is adding guitar work and possibly some vox.

Updates:

***Version 4:
-Adjusted volume of the drum tracks (kick, snare, toms, and cymbals each have their own track) to have them stand out more.
-Slightly increased the volume of the distortion guitar.
-Adjusted the EQ on the distortion guitar to separate it a tad more from the bass guitar and added more emphasis on it around 500hz.
-Added the "strum" noise to the distortion guitar to add realism.
-Accentuated the distortion guitar slightly during the verses.
-Made some slight adjustments to the toms during the break.
-Replaced a synth during the chorus with a more fitting synth. This adds a bit of a creepiness factor.
-Adjusted the volume of certain tracks to make them stand out just slightly more.

***Version 3:
-Added a break after the bridge.
-Adjusted volume a tad on certain ambient effects.
-Added additional effect at end of song.
-Added a distortion guitar to help drive the rhythm of the song, but placed slightly behind the bass guitar.

***Version 2:
-Changed out the acoustic guitar sample.
-Added a bunch of different elements, such as a bit of ambience and other synths to add to the flavor of the song.
-Adjusted panning and effects on existing tracks.

Thanks for the comment, Din! I worked hard to polish this song off the way I envisioned it to be in it's original creation years ago. I finally have the tools necessary to do so. I am happy that you have enjoyed this tune! :)

Oh yeah, this is a MUST download. First, it's an excellent song. Second, the stream aliases the snot out of everything!

Outstanding mood piece. I'm reminded of strange dreams I've had, where I'm not sure if it's something important or something fearful. I love the use of harpsicord/steel-string acoustic guitar to highlight the movement going on everywhere else. Eerie synths, scratchy guitars, gothic inspired pipe organ (organ anyway) and harpsicord...wow. Great song :D

You should be proud. The achievement is crystal. The music golden.

Thank you dear friend. I have listened to each version dozen of times before creating the "next version" until finally I have reached the final destination with version 4. I feel as though this song is officially complete, and I am very proud of my achievement. I have very much enjoyed writing and morphing this song along it's "voyage."

Now you've taken the whole series, and given it a majestic, cinematic sound that is definitely indications of space flight and explore voyage. I feel the version 4, the final version does actually reach the destination. Listening to all four of them I hear clearly the sound of evolution you take us through with every new version of this beautiful voyage. The way music ends is also absolutely top quality stuff. Great stuff.
