Year: 2000

Artist's description:
Inspired by the works of Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Satie, Chopin, Debussy and more, this composition was built to be just as much a visual performance piece as it was a musical one. Huge spans of measures are left virtually blank, with only minor tonal direction penciled in, leaving the performer to interpret the score in the widest possible manner; it plays differently every time is performed. Part, nocturne, part scherzo, and part waltz, Rift in the Eternal Time is still the piano solo of which I am most proud, even if it is too difficult for even me to perform without ample preparation.

Contributors:
Performance by Jesse Worley on a Baldwin DVP-50 digital piano. Recorded with Sonar via a Roland VM-3100 mixer into a WaveCenter PCI sound card.

Astounding. At times dramatic, at times tender, at times even lachrymose, but always sensitively played, this piece demonstrates both Jesse's amazing piano virtuosity, and his skill as a composer.... Read full review

Wow this is excellent! You are a talented pianist. The piano is one of my favorite instruments, it's too bad I don't know how to play worth a crap... yet. This is a very, very nice piece of music here, well nice is an understatement. It's beautiful, amazing, all the adjectives along those same lines... ^_^ I certainly enjoyed this.
