A piece from The Spirit Engine 2. I haven't posted any teasers for a while, so here is one. I like the ending, but anyway, it's meant to loop.

The streaming quality isn't too great, so I recommend downloading (even though I don't expect you to :D)

As in many of your tracks, you've fused orchestral score and modern sounds very well. I'm actually really surprised how the urban drumwork and the game-score orchestra play together. It works really well, and maintains the epic-background feel that I think you're aiming for. People talk a lot about trying to invent new structures or whatever, but stuff like this is what really catches my eye. I love that filter sweep in there too! I was going to tell you to lay off the triplets on your snare, but every time I've listened to it since the first time, it hasn't stuck out to me, and actually fits well I think. So instead of complaining I'm going to compliment you on it. Well played, Whelchel, Well played.

I'd say as a game music, this song has enough variation to keep things interesting, but not repetive. It has quite strong elements, but not too captive, so it stays in background. It loops quite well, if the loop is from end to beginning. As a composition, battle theme is what comes in mind.

Wow... o_O ... Amazing work. The dynamics are excellent. The melody is delightful. Sounds like I'm about to face one hell of a battle ahead. The subtle use of the tubular bells... just rocks. Beautiful arrangement and quality. This is good stuff, no I take that back, excellent piece of art, or better yet, masterpiece. I agree with Space Walk. I'm itchin' to check this game out just from listening to the music alone.

I see you're aiming for different sets of both drums works and basslines. I love the snare. Intense theme, which indicates either an epic battle or of a grave danger ahead. As usual from a musical point of view this is simply a masterpiece, and from the perspective of game-music then I have to say damn I wanna play the game so bad because it sounds so good.
