Artist's description:
I was at my brother's house down south about a month ago, and I started playing around on his piano. As I did, this piece just came to me. Because I didn't have any manuscript with me, I recorded it using my mobile phone - the sound quality was atrocious, but it meant that I could later score the piece. And so here it is. :)

I don't consider this track complete yet - I can't put my finger on exactly why, though. Feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts and ideas.

I've dedicated this piece to someone very special to me, even though I haven't told her yet.

While playing this song two things came into my mind. First the theme of a hero sometime in the medieval times, where he has set on a quest to find his one and only true love who was kidnapped from hi... Read full review

Very nice! It puts me in the mind of a contemporary ballad. I could easily see lyrics in this piece. Everything flows smoothly and the instruments arrive just when they should, but it could be twice ... Read full review

You can download the source IT (for OpenMPT 0.52 - dev) from http://test.pbc.wa.edu.au/music/You've given me.it . If you want, I can also pull out just the piano line as a wave file. // And no, you're not overstepping anything - I'm flattered that you like it enough to want it! :D

do you have just the piano for this? I hear something in this that I'd like to explore. I hope I'm not overstepping any unspoken inter-netiquet by asking. I Just get all excited and weird when i hear something that inspires me. nicely written. It sounds complete to me...maybe the issue is more with the "space" that the individual instruments fill rather than the song itself. I'm always a sucker for lots of echoy concert-hall reverb on strings:)

Thanks, TwiTerror! :) I must say that I'm still not completely happy with this piece, particularly the drums. One day (during the inter-semester break, maybe) I'll look at it.

This is like the crown jewel. I heard this first during the Novus compos, and I've loved it since.
