Artist's description:
To be honest, I'll be surprised if anyone makes it past the first 3 and a half minutes.... The first part is definately fucked right up! but it's all part of the concept, so it tells the story well - for those that do make it past the first 3 or so minutes, you'll not be tortured any longer in the track, I promise :) (unless you really hate synthetic music)

Part 1: losing my mind
0:00 to 3:55

Part 2: escaping insanity
3:55 to 8:02

Part 3: Go away, I'm not home
8:02 to 11:23

Part 4: broken chains
11:23 to 14:48 (end)

In a nutshell, part 1 is about going mad.
Part 2 is breaking away, running from the madness.
Part 3 is about fighting off a return of the madness.
Part 4 is total victory against the lunatic within, and being able to be normal again.

Strange concept, but what do you expect from me these days? :D

Once again thanks to all my buddies around here, and everywhere else for that matter, for you constant support! <3

(C)2008

I recycled 'welcome to evil cheese land' for part 3, as I was never really happy with the 2nd half of that track..... I'm far happier with it here.

Oh, and I broke a key on my SY77 making this!

I'm sure he's THE qualified person... still it doesn't mean that I can't disagree with him.

hate to say it spacewalk, but roncli is probably the most qualified person, other than me, to recognise slammy style! I've shoved it down his neck for 9 years now! :D. Thank so much for you kind words though. Thanks everyone for all of your comments! I appreciate it so very much!

Dang Slammy, this was an interesting song. I'm not sure what to say about it since I'm pretty sure I don't "get" it, but I think that's part of the fun. There's definitely a strong narrative here, and I really like the synth work. It occupies this particular spectrum of synthesizer music where it isn't really radio-polished, but isn't squealy, experimental and hard to listen to either. I happen to enjoy this kind of sound very much. I played it at the school today, I think I will do so again, maybe see what some of the students think if any of them bother to show up. Thanks for the citation... good luck with your SY77! :D

Ok. Now that I've listened to it all, I have to say two words "simply fantastic". Roncli and I have to say this is where I have to disagree with you after listening to both first and second parts I still didn't recognize Slammy style in none of them. The main theme was a different approach, the sets of drums were different as I believe slammy didn't use the "snare fill-ins" and he usually does and the strings I'm used to hear from Slammy are much softer and emotive. Then again in part three most recognizable were the snare fill-ins and the whole theme felt like slammy blending his new with older style, which was absolutely gorgeous too and worked just fine. Part four was breath taking, here I hear mixture of modern sounds yet in a dusty way of feeling. I didn't feel that the fourth part took any distance from the third (I felt it sounded like the third part with more glimpse of hope). Hmmm overall I have to say Slammy this is absolutely a musical piece worth it's LOOOONG time of downloading, and the song is here to stay in my HDD.

I know what is doing it, its right at the last section, where its most audiable? I have a subbass pitch sliding downwards, its cancelling out alot of frequencies it seems. Just caught it now, listening to the track low volume - didn't hear it loud, which is how I tend to compose :O

And I don't remember evil cheeseland. I do know that this song kicks some serious toushie.

I don't mean that you have four bars that are quiet, four bars that are loud, four bars that are quiet... I mean there's actual waves of loudness that aren't confined to the musical structure. Again, it's minor, some people may not even be able to detect it, but you know me, I have an ear for such inconsistancies. :)

the loud, quiet, loud, quiet, probably displays my inability to take one section, and gel it perfectly with another, without losing steam, as it were! Thats one of the reasons I rarely work with verse/bridge/chorus arrangements, I just cant do it mostr of the time :/. I dont actually recall using a compressor or maximizer anywhere on this track! I'd have to look at the rack, lol. Funny enough, the ending was the 2nd thing completed. The beginning was made last! :D. I hope you agree the 3rd part, is much better here, than 'Welcome to evil cheeseland'... *grin*

I don't know how you do it, slam. This song is nothing short of fun and amazing. Only thing I'd change is to watch the compressor/maximizer over the whole shebang. The song comes in waves at times, soft one moment, loud the next. If this was your intention, it doesn't work very well. But, this is a very minor detail. The songwriting is fabulous, keeps you in it till the end, and for once I get the feeling that the ending wasn't rushed. :)

I must disagree. I recognized "slammy stylee" off of the first melody, and then when the pad came in at about 0:56, the signature was written. To me, this is very clearly slammy music.

A few annoyances here and there, otherwise this was pretty nice a listen. At some points a tad too gruel for my cruel taste :D One longass track aswell. Liked the sounds!

Just the main argument makes me feel its a great song... Otherwise I didn't take a look to it. Listening it, the presentiment turns into real. Good job, man!

I didn't make it past part 2 (yet) have to go. When I get home I'll download and give it a proper listen. What was interesting in part 1 and 2 though was that I didn't recognize "Slammy Style" in none of them, you're tunes are either very moving and emotive or very hard like S.T.F.U. The music however sounded fresh and interesting. But I give you 5 stars because only part 1 and 2 deserved it.

Epic and slightly cheesy :) Great choices on a lot of the synths, especially the bass lines at their darkest ;), and I absolutely love the drum work. That's a playlister most definitely, in spite of it being HUGE.
