Artist's description:
A live performance of a song I've been working on for the last few weeks, done for Louigi Verona's Inspiration Live event. Munch played the guitar, I played a synth and sang, and messed with some filter and mixer dials.

The recording was done in a single take by putting the computer through a mixer along with microphones for guitar and vox, the output recorded by another computer as a single stereo track. No post production was performed.

I don't really know where the idea for this song came from. I'm not pining for any lost loves at the moment nor seeing any shapes in the shadows, and I don't do any drugs or drink that much. But I sat down to write some lyrics and this is what came out so, here it is.

Sorry about the low quality of the recordings, but this one was kind of hurried since Munch needed to go traveling and we had to do it pretty fast, and didn't get to practice as much as we would have liked. Plus, the room we have isn't so great for recordings, and neither of us know how to do vocals. One the other hand, we had all kinds of fun recording it, and we hope some of that carried over into the song. We'd like to do a "studio" version sometime down the line with properly produced vocals and perhaps some more instruments.

Trax In Space maintains a variety of powerful tools for communication and conveying of ideas. Feel free to utilize them to make fun of my singing :)

Cool track man! Sounds like early Apoptygma Berserk, which is very nice. I'm always impressed by people who dare to sing, and your voice really works. Very good contrast between the hard parts and soft parts.

Wow, thanks Spectra (and everyone!) for your kind feedback. Wow, ST Arts and Roncli are two artists I have a lot of respect for. I really should listen to Smashing Pumpkins more since I've heard that from a few people. As for the production, you're very right, this one sounds as thin to me as it does to you, but it's the 'early' live version, and I plan on putting a lot of time into it before making a 'finished' one, since I think it needs a lot of work but has some potential. Thanks again!

Catchy as anything...great chords, lots of motifs in the leads, and a very full sounding bass arpeggio! Yes the voice is overly loud and the guitar could be filtered somehow to meld better and part of me says I'd like some layers of deep-sounding drums/polyrhythms to crank on my sub woofers... But the fact is I realize that isn't the point of this at all and this song is truly fun, good as anything ST Arts would make in my book. Again, like Robbie's Rocketship, I hear a LOT of Smashing Pumpkins in this one, along with some Modern English (80's group). I have to say though...you probably have just about the best sense of catchy pop melodies on the site along with Roncli, and also some of the best I've heard anywhere. Very good stuff indeed...

Your voice sounds like... the smiths or the cure? the piece has a nice 80's vibe for me. nicely raw sounding - thanks for sharing!
