This is certainly a different style from what I've heard from you so far. (I have not yet listened to all you have up here). I think I take sort of a middle path on this. I personally find the variat... Read full review

In my opinion this songs RULES! It has the ingredients of an industrial hit, flavoured with a great piano melody. Maybe more variation could improve the final product, but anyway it sounds cool. 4 stars for you.

thank you for all the good advice. This is why I've stuck mostly with loud industrial. I'm still working on fine-tuning the more subltle things in my music like...VOLUME:) But seriously...I know I can do better than this...I just get lazy (like most stoner kids do). Since this was written a few years ago I think my level of attention to detail has grown a bit. Here's my promise to you then. In an effort to better myself as musician (hack) I am going to write you a piano song that you can (and should) critique and tear to shreds. this is how I learn. Fall flat on my face in failure, rise up from the ashes and then shine like a brilliantly mediocre star. yay. so I'll keep you informed of that:) and again, thanks for all the good insight. i shall implement it into my next failure (song).

This isn't bad. I would've liked a bit more dynamic variance in the piano, though - it all seems to be played at the same volume. With jazzier playing, you can have really sharp accents which really sparkle. I think you *should* get back into this jazzier piano stuff - I do like it, and I'd like to see what you'll be able to come up with nowadays. // In places, this feels a bit too dense, and there's not all that much development. I would've loved to have a more improvisatory feel to the piano line - trying lots of different ideas, discarding some, coming back to others. I think that you could probably also put a bass (synth or real) into the mix, and reduce the piano's lower octaves - use them for emphasis here and there, but not as much as at present. // All that being said, it's not a bad piece of music you've got here, orkabot. I'd really like to hear more of this style from you. :)
