Artist's description:
UPDATE: I've uploaded the score! Please, any pianists who want to play this (and record it), do so, and upload your performance. I would *love* to hear this performed.

UPDATE 2: Oops, I just realised that the tempo marking on the score is twice as fast as it should be. I'll fix it when I get a chance. Sorry 'bout that!

I've been wanting to write a piece for solo piano for quite a while now. I always feel severely handicapped by the fact that I don't have a keyboard (just a real piano :P), so I can't be as improvisatory as I normally would.

I apologise for the volume level on this track (and the hiss) in advance. On an album, I would want this track at a significantly lower volume than the other tracks, though.

I like this tune very much. Flawless, inspiring play and really relaxing. Listening to the track some more times it seems to me there's some unused potential, though I don't know which road would be fitting (to my mind came: more variation melody- or tempo-wise, more instruments towards the end). Anyway, great track!

While it does remind of Beethoven, at the same time takes distance from your usual style. I can picture you there somehow though, meaning that this, in a way is you. Unlike many others I don't hear sadness in this one, but a disturbed soul, a rainy, gray day and a big window that looks out into that rainy gray day. Nice work indeed friend.

And I agree with CH - the tune is great nonetheless.

I much agree with Clones, about the sonata in C# minor op.27 (The name Moonlight Sonata wasn't given by Beethoven) . But that's as far as I'd go technically. As always, well written and played. And then.. we all have our own vision.

to me I'd place it closer to Beethoven. It opens very much like moonlight sonata movement one - just quite a bit faster. Is this in C# minor to start? I think that is the key where moonlight starts. It is nicely realized.

very beautiful and haunting piano solo. This is one of the very reasons why Piano is my favourite instrument of all. It has the ability to convey so many different emotions, and with this piece, it's sadness.... Nice work BarryVan! :)
