I have a cool Techno SF2, with some nice 303-ish synth, if you want, I can email that to you ;)

VST and audio samples are both "legal", as are sf2 sound banks. :-) I still use openMpt (mainly for its microtonal support) but with heavy use of VSTi's and/or samples derived from VSTi's.

What is your gear? Do you look for VST or audio sample?

I can try a gap to relieve the tension...good idea. Far as acid...I just made it tracked but with Direct-X filters. Where do you suggest I find good acid instruments (one-shot samples)...I've tried a few sites but no luck so far I had enough trouble finding the 303's.

1 Din. Both moods don't quite match. Have you tried to use some acid-related instru instead of the bubble-like one, for your "happy" line? And removing the last 3 notes of this line might work pretty well. It'd leave a "gap" in between, for the 303 to kick in. (303 were made w/ ReBirth, right?)

Hehehe...fair enough it's a SpectraFloor release so maybe it's a bit too happy and pop...but hey, you know...who's to say I can't make my second melodic line dark and creepy (I just might). :-D

Okay, that 303 intro is sweet :D The blip/plunk phrase is too happy-sounding for me. It actually blends well with the 303, but it seems to take the dark, high-energy, IDM/industrial explosion about to happen and turn it toward a lighter, more listener-friendly end. Good regardless ;)
