Artist's description:
I think the title explains what this song is all about. I find this tune a bit messy sometimes with a lot of melodies and stuff going on in fast tempo. All sounds from Yamaha S03 GM bank.

Oh, and this is the first time I included the source file too, so check out the MIDI too if you want. For listening purposes the MIDI file serves at least just as well as the mp3 version. (The Microsoft GS wavetable synth rocks!) :D

That organ part is crazy. You're my hero. If you're ever up for we should write a soundtrack together. I have things to learn from you!

Hi gilgamesh - can I remix this? This is a great tune - very driving.

I do not find parts of the tune to be messy, yes melodies are fast but there are not superfast transitions between chords, which is one of things that can confuse the listener for sure. It just all makes harmonic sense and kicks ass, that's what such a tune should look like :)

Well, both of the battle themes in SO and SO2 are quite similar, both statring with a simple power bass riff. I've only played the first one through but been listening to both soundtracks all the way. I also have the stunning live DVD where Sakuraba and his band perform tunes from SO2 and Valkyrie Profile. I think there are some clips on Youtube as well. ;)

Wow... True masters clearly don't need fancy, expensive sample sets or synthesizers. Great use of boring old ordinary tools ;) Incidently, is it the first Star Ocean you're referring to or the second? I've played the second one bunches and I love (LOVE!!!) the soundtrack, but I only recently found an English ROM and emulator for the first one. Do tell.

Great work, what I am missing in it..is, some battle sounds by swords and magics! :D Maybe at the end your fanfare could be added. Its just an idea.

In fact, I was highly influenced by the normal battle theme in Star Ocean by Motoi Sakuraba. That's how I came up with the bass riff intro. ;)

:D I was half joking, but sometimes you'll get nice retro game-ish sounds out of it. And the ending is boring, yes, maybe I should do a second non loopable version...

Made me think of Star Ocean

I think that that's the first time I've ever heard anyone say "The Microsoft GS wavetable synth rocks!" :D Thing is, you make it rock in this track. Really solid work here, Gilgamesh. The ending was a little bit of a letdown, though - I was waiting for something really big. But I guess that it would probably be looped in a game... Good work. :)
