The Spirit Engine II: Selections (Track #14)

Artist's description:
One of my favorite tracks from "The Spirit Engine 2," this song is on both the full soundtrack and the "Best Of."

This is sort of a tribal style song for a town that survives by hunting the animals of the tameless jungle outside their borders. The people are constantly in the struggle of keeping the jungle from overgrowing their settlement while also needing to be aggressive to sustain - this is a town riddled with stress, but still happy enough to entertain visitors. (:

Ooh, nice didges! :) You have quite an eclectic collection of sounds in this track - blends of African, Australian, and Asian sounds. It actually works quite well. I think some "lighter" percussion, like claves, would've really made this track shine, especially if they were carried through both the percussive and melodic sections. As it stands, I think that the two sections are, perhaps, *too* distinct, so it's four stars from me. // Don't get me wrong - I thoroughly enjoyed this track. It's got a *lot* going for it. :)

(Humming might not be the best adjective to describe the sound? Always try to widen your vocabulary...;))

Nice progression from the tribal beat to the atmospheric "humming". Some strategy games like "The Settlers" come to mind. Anyway, I think this tune is perfect for it's purpose! ;)
