"Silver Shine" is a very pleasant, very well-produced trance track. The instruments seem to be carefully selected, and work great together to provide a well-layered sound. It is set up in an arran... Read full review

The good news...I can't tell a difference between this and the professionally produced songs at the famous internet radio station DI.FM. The bad news...same thing. Until 2:34 there is no melody (perhaps a bit too long a wait). When it does hit it is solid and the piano lines and filter sweeps in the background are "soaring". The thing is, the mood is 4-chord very late 90's trance, by about 3 minutes you know almost exactly where the next 5 minutes are going. The chords are quite standard as are the "5ths" arpeggios; and those things lead the mood despite the clever and moody filter sweeps in the background. In my opinion, this track would really start to stand out if you stressed the background production elements and were a bit more "wreckless"/fun with your chord selection. ------------------------------------------------------------ I don't know if you've heard 303-Infinity's "Foreplay"...but I think it's a good example of what your level of skill can do combined with a bit more edge. Note: though a more break-beat approach (with more of the drum accents performed by snares & such instead of cymbals) could help...but, on the other hand, so could a pop-dance approach leaving the cymbals as it (though perhaps softening their EQ's a bit; at least on my piezo tweeter 15" PA speakers they sting a bit at around 12khz). -------------------------------------------------------------------- Around 3.7/5 stars: great skills and solid though not spectacular mood held back by lack of individuality.

I like the steady, driving beats of this track. Excellent trance. 5/5
