Artist's description:
This is a remix of Gilli's 'Magic Piano', which won the 3rd place at Trance Is Gay Compo (TIGC), 2005. The original track can be downloaded as ogg vorbis from Gilli's webpage:

http://inorganic.de/

What I've tried has been giving the track a rich dream trance taste. Darbuka is also added to give the track a middle-eastern feel.

Big thanks goes to Gilli for allowing me to mess with his masterpiece, and for his immense support, also to ptrance whose music is revelation to me. I've been highly inspired by his music working on this remix.

Fully done in Renoise 2.0.

Woooooooow! Thanks dear Gilzad! I'm honored to see you here commenting on my remix of your masterpiece. I hadn't changed the chord progression, just the pad sample along with some filters, and I really like your track's original vibe so didn't want to ruin it. I cherish Magic Piano. :)

Thanks for the rmx, Ashy! Haha, that's the first time I'm showing up at TiS again after its relaunch - after 9 years you made me come back here :) About the chords: I'd really love to hear your choice of the chord progression. Really, I wouldn't feel disrespected, it's rather a favour to me if a good friend remixes one of my songs. Really feel honored, big thanks!

Thanks S7. AAMOF I don't have that time, but I'm a fast tracker. I did the remix in 2 nights, 2 or 3 hours each. In BeatBattle 5 I made my entry during 1 night only, while I had 1 month.

Great production. I think your remix is more energetic than original.

Yup - completely hear you about giving respect to the original author, I did not know that these are the original pads so it makes more sense now. I envy the fact that you have so much time to make music man - you just keep spitting them... :) and with Renoise 2.0 already... man.. I need to play with it - thankfully the weekend is here. :) Keep them coming and beep when they do.

Big thanks S7, too kind as usual! ;) I'm really glad you liked it, your idea means much too me, because I personally dig your trance. I understand what you feel about the pads, actually I'd changed them thoroughly at first, but later I changed them back to original in order to give my respect to my dear friend, Gilli. I didn't want the remix sound much different than the original.

Ashy - what am I going to do with you?!You are producing them one after the other, and always getting better - This is a great, great remix. I liked it more than the original. I agree with Tympanic completely - the dreamy touch is noticeable and working well and I like the darbouka .addition (of course I do!), I like the vocal reverbs and I love the tasteful mastering. To be completely honest, the pads sometimes distract me - both in your version and the original - they made me notice the chords too much. Maybe they are a bit too bright?... but thats just a small thing that does not take away from the pleasure of listening to this song again and again. Well done as always - I will keep it looping here for a while :)

Another great song by ashyimpala! You definitely gave a dream trance feel in this remix. The Darbuka gives a unique flavour. 5/5.
