Album:
Compost Uff

Artist's description:
My first release in 5 months :( , hopefully what ends up being the key-log in loosening my creative block.

This is a bit of an experiment in blending flavors, so I have no idea what genre to stick it in. Any suggestions?

And you'll want a subwoofer ;)

Yeah, I got lazy with the brass parts, and I think the hihats are still a little too loud (adding to hypnosis effect). I went light on low-mids because the pads were stacking with both the bassline and guitar samples and that left little room for something else to fit, at least with the time I had left to work on it. I probably should have added another snare sample to deepen things just a smidge, but again I was a little rushed and liked how it sounded MOST of the time ;) I can always fuss with it more after the compo. Thanks for the feedback :)

No sub here, but studio headphones. I would've enjoyed more bass (even though these phones have quite warm and biased lows) - it's mainly the lack of low-mids (all the synths are quite on the high scale, snares have nearly zero in that department and the hats are ultrahigh) that makes it sound like there wasn't much bass, while the spectrum analyzer is telling me that there infact is. The hats also get a bit tiresome eventually, due to lack of real dynamics in them. A way to avoid that is to either make some hatfills or switch to a closed hat beat to get the listener snap out of the... hypnosis that kind of non-evolving high-frequency concentrated rhytm creates. Sound bitching aside, lovely synth work, as always. You've developed a really distinct style, which I like alot.

Absolutely great work...you've taken all the catchy-ness of your previous works and added load of variation (in melody, chords, and gradual arrangement changes/fades)...not to mention managed to mix a break-beat with professional-like clarity without sacrificing originality. The mood is not completely my style, but that's completely subjective. Overall, all I can say is.....wow (yes, I did drop a 5/5 here, for once)!
