Year: 2013

Artist's description:
Something slightly newer.

I was comissioned to remake a simple piano theme by Kai Moosmann for his scifi audio play "Quo Vadis: Inferi" in early 2013. The gist of it was to turn the piano chord progression into a proper theme song. This is the result of the said project.

The audio play in question is in German. You can listen to it here (it is the final chapter of a trilogy, the earlier parts can also be found under his soundcloud): https://soundcloud.com/kmoosmann/sets/quo-vadis-inferi

Thank you. In a near-perfect world I'd have the money to invest into one of the more professional string libraries. The EWQL SO strings tend to jump out as a bit artificial unless you drown them far into the mix, but what can you do.

Bravo, outstanding work on every level, production, arrangement, instruments, melody and emotional impact.

Damn man, this is beautiful stuff! I love the blend between acoustic instruments (piano, the percussion) and electronic touches. The percussion also sounds very very nice, particularly during the first part ~0:44-1:40. It fits together so perfectly due to the way it's produced, and that vocal theme is just icing on the cake. In a perfect world I guess you'd have real strings (or mellotrons!) and not canned ones, but what can you do right? ;) 5 stars for sure, keep up the good work!
