May 06, 2009 - What's your favorite synthesizer (if you use one) and why?

Response - I like Sonic Charge's Synplant. The GUI is visually stimulating and you can get traditional, experimental, or any sound in between out of it. It's a little different, but it makes creating your own patches a lot of fun.

May 05, 2009 - If you could invent a new instrument - what would it be and how would it sound (try to explain it)?

Response - mix a kaossilator and a tenori-on and that'd be pretty close to what I have in mind. tactile synthesis with lots of blinking lights.

Response - Not at all, it's very difficult to compose and deserves more praise than this autotune garbage being pumped out today.

I was implying that classical as a genre deserves more respect and praise than other truly over-hyped genres because of the difficulty, but I never claimed it to be good.

But doesn't that 'difficult to compose = good attitude' kind of say that music is supposed to be more a show of natural skill than expression of emotion? Although, I agree with you, it certainly beats the pants off auto-tuned pop music.
