I have to admit that I always snicker a bit to myself when I see you wearing your headphones. I can't help it. Here's a photo of Midiman at our last jam together, and, man, I had to bite my lip! http://www.leadfoots.com/images/Found/huge-headphones.jpg

Mar 07, 2010 - Try NanoTowns (a game mysterium's group made) and let him know what you think! http://apps.facebook.com/nanotowns

Response - Also, you may want to try http://www.traxinspace.com
download some music and let them know what you think!

Mar 06, 2010 - How have your musical tastes changed over the last 10 years?

Response - In highschool, I listened to Zeppelin, and Floyd, now I listen to the NMC, and DJ Nutsack, so I guess you could say my musical tastes have improved over the years.

Mar 05, 2010 - Should TiS add Facebook Connect? How would you use it?

Response - I have no interest in sharing my music with other people outside of dedicated music communities. Thats just a personal thing. I wouldnt link my FB account to Midiman if it were an option.

I agree with you regarding Red Rocks. Not only a beautiful place, but outdoor concerts are always better in terms of accoustics and ventilation.

Response - If Charles Manson was a great guitar player, would he still be a bad musician ?

Feb 23, 2010 - Is Tiger Wood's apology sincere?

He could have made more cash and saved face, by moving forward with his mistake and picking up TV sponsors like Trojan and KY

Response - Gone to Soon

Jun 17, 2009 - Is music important to the evolution of society?

Response - yes. Also important to stagnant and devolving societies.
no comments
Jun 16, 2009 - Which is more important, progression of the human voice or instruments?

Response - progression of instruments likely not as important than the progression of playing the same old instumenterrrummm, I'll have another drink and maybe get back on this one. - oh wait, was my voice just an insturment?

Jun 11, 2009 - Should children allowed to have music careers?

Response - Put em all in The Wall! THeres no time for that nonsense. They shouldnt even listen to music. There are very important cubicles to fill !

May 28, 2009 - What do you think of the swine flu as portrayed by the media? Is the threat legit or is it overhyped?

Response - The threat is both legit and overhyped. The early evaluation has unknowns. The odds are low but what's at risk dictates action.

May 21, 2009 - What do you think about using VitaminD to allow an artist to request a public review of a song of theirs? There would still only be one topic a day.

Response - I expect this is being done already when I post a new song. The ones who care enough to listen and comment I think are doing so now. Unrelated; what about changing 5 star ratings to 10?

May 20, 2009 - What are some music related vitamind topics you'd like to see?

I'm with you on that one, that's quite interesting.

May 18, 2009 - What's the right price point for a single song to purchase?

Response - Fixed pricing is over. Price the trend. Price with demand like stock trades. heck, let people put $10,000 on a song for the option to make money from it. or short it. I would like to place a $ 1000 covered call now on the next radiohead CD going over 5 mill...perhaps put down cash on a 3 month short on ( BS )Britny Spears. We could make more money from musicians this way.. I dont think listening to the song would even be that important....Sorry, what was the question>

May 12, 2009 - What's your favorite childhood song?

Response - My brother passed me down 3 8-track tapes when I was a wee lad which were my only source of music for years. Blue Oyster cult,Agents of Fortune, Ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars, Band on the run. THey were continuosly played throughout the album (in standard 8T form) So I dont have a specific song.

Those damned "quotes" again! They get me everytime! How come other people get to use "quotes" successfully on Vit.D? What's the secret here?

Oh, that's just great: "Here kid, some old cast-off 8 tracks involving sci-fi and occult imagery, gender confusion, drug abuse and an ex-Beatle. Good luck. Listen to these over and over for years and I'm sure you'll turn out just fine." That must have THRILLED your mom (and probably explains a lot of things about you);)

May 10, 2009 - Name a song you discovered because it was the music to a TV commercial?

Response - Pink Moon - that was a while back. I stopped paying for cable. Stepping off the grid :)

May 09, 2009 - What is more important for budding bands - marketing or unique music?

Response - It depends on the band. A plastic boy band needs plenty of marketing.

The USC marching band.

Ofcourse! As I recall, Fleetwood Mac used an actual high-school marching band for the excellent percussion in that song.

May 04, 2009 - What do you think will be the next major evolution in music?

Response - shorter tracks, errr songs. who decided 2-3 min was the right length. Attention spans r at an all time low. music is devolving to snippets
Genius really. :) The music industry will be so happy with this they will hardly be able to count.

May 03, 2009 - Should artists still make albums or only focus on singles?

Response - Most musicians seem to have a purpose driven desire moving foward independent of outcome. I don't think they
are " focusing " on singles, rather, the creation process itself.

May 01, 2009 - Do you think classical music is overhyped?

Response - no. its already been sold.

Apr 28, 2009 - What are ideas for TiS to grow its group of users and musicians?

Response - a big thing for me is the ability listen to a song and be able to move through Tis without stopping the song. Also being able to forward a bit through some of the track as its playing would really improve this site a lot ! - that and perhaps a pornography feature> : )

I like the Radio option too.

Apr 27, 2009 - If you could change sheet music to fit modern music theory, what changes would you make?

Response - didnt sheet music go paperless?

Apr 26, 2009 - are you more creative during one season versus another? for example, you make more music in winter than spring. which season and why?

Response - Oddly, im most creative when im not supposed to be. When I have to work or be somewhere else. - especially just before major deadlines. - i wish there was a joke here somewhere

Apr 25, 2009 - Do you prefer to buy singles or albums? why?

Response - Back in the day, singles were for pussys. But with the new processed, instant hit pop bands, the wad is shot on one song and even the band members wouldn't buy the album.
There r exceptions of corse( Radiohead Ect) - the times they r a changin

Apr 24, 2009 - Would you like to see a compos feature on the website where you create, enter and manage compos?

Response - Yes

Apr 21, 2009 - Does anyone want to collaborate on making some cool music this week? If so post here what you want to do.

Response - often, the stuff you guys are putting out there is already complete, but im always up for adding to exiting tracks with guitar ect..if interested, just ask. Conversely, im always looking for bass/drum riffs..a lot of you can do that really well, and i suck at that part of it

we need to have a party! I wonder who else we can invite to collaborate?

Apr 20, 2009 - Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack received the grammy for best soundtrack in a movie? Do you agree with this choice? If not, who should have won and why?

Response - Come on! Why would TiS musicians care about this>>>?? These questions seem designed to create bundled data for corporate California R and D. What new band would U like to see us put in the new Guitar Hero game? What new instrument would most likely make you buy the new Rock Band game.? Heres a better question.....Does anyone want to collaborate on making some cool music this week? or something like... has midiman fallen off his rocker?

Apr 19, 2009 - What instrument would you like to see in Rock Band?

I agree: more cowbell! And it should be big enough to use as a helmet in case some idiot decides to play the bull roarer.

Apr 13, 2009 - Who's your fave TiS artist (except yourself!) and why?

Response - I have to admit, TiS music has gotten a lot of airtime around the house this month. I'm with ice, I don't have an established fav. But am happy to report your music has eclipsed mainstream trash. Thank you.

Apr 11, 2009 - Have you been affected by the "economy"? How so?

Response - I use a lot more duct tape nowadays.

Mar 22, 2009 - What decade in the last 150 years do you think had the most impact on music and why?

Response - 60's....1967, the first FM rock station born (San Fran.) FM in stereo! format driven AM stations die. Music reaches the masses. Creative music explodes.
